OK, so I have studied some Math in my time and feel I am ready to try to contribute.
At first I all remembered about Pythagorus was his famous theorem from 8th Grade math. So I checked out the web for more.....

Comparing Wikipedia notes to the picture of Sigruns post:
I see many symbols. I start with the bottom of the picture and see that Music, lower left, math lower right are all part of our earthly existence - perhaps within our rhelm of control, therefore below the horizontal mid-line of the man. The planet is at his side like an equal but of out the center focus. I do not believe the planet is earth. Not the right color for earth, what other planet looks kinda purple or maybe red????
The left hand has the Pyramid, which I believe is a direct symbol for Egyptian Pyramids, where he studied, and the hidden knowledge that lie there about man's past and its relationship with the last symbol of "Triangles from the Sky". Those two symbols are closest in nature, and since they are elevated I believe have some futuristic tone to them. It has been suggested that Atlanteans stored some old documents beneath the Pyramids. I am not sure about the steps mean and I cannot see the statue too well, so not sure about those.
Summary:
Meaning #1 Gold = knowledge of past, treat this knowledge like Gold and look for where it is stored. Pretty simplistic.
Meaning #2 ET's need Gold for some reason and our planet has some great gold deposits. For some reason I am thinking about the ET planet's atmosphere and perhaps gold dust recharges the Ozone or something like that. Our evolution has been orchestrated by ET's trying to get the Gold on our planet without working as laboriously, perhaps they are not well suited for mining. In addition the transport of appropriate tools is not as economical as simply creating a slave work force through the genetic mutation of us...or at least beings whom we kind of decended from?????

Realise this, that your own sciences have stated, that if your climate were to become 'extreme' through over heating and excessive solar radiation, that they believe could inject into the upper atmosphere of Earth an extremely fine dust of a certain substance found here
This substance would be used to reflect the suns radiation / heat
This substance is of course Gold
The question now becomes. Do you think it may be easier for them to access this gold, since such quantities are now, no longer in the ground?

I do enjoy your 2 cents Nano and Jenny, I doubt very much that it will be used here for those reasons
But consider if your orbit was close to a dwarf star, not too much light, but a lot of radiation, then you may have good reason for this substance
Do not forget, that 3600 years for you, may in fact just be a year for others. It is a nice and convenient concept, to drop by the fueling station, every year and pick up what you need
Research what they have found now in what are the gold ancient mines of Africa
Such technological advances in mining for a being that had just climbed down from the trees.. apparently
They find one, they dig deeper and find another. The technology used to dig / carve these mines is far in advance of anything that should have been possible 1000's of years ago

Its been a few years since I read Sitchen, but I recall that the stories of the Sumerians indicate that the Annunaki desperately needed gold in order to produce gold dust which they wanted to spray into their atmosphere. This was their way of controlling climate change on their planet, nibiru, which was being badly affected by increased radiation from their sun, or the dwarf star as Sigrun calls it.
Back then, they needed to bio engineer primitive humans to help them mine it.
Now, we have millions of tonnes of the stuff in our central bank vaults which they may wish to take? Will that be enough for them or will they need to mine for more and how will humanity deal with that?

You are correct Nano. A dwarf star with planets is the legend spoken of, the Winged Warrior
They first attempted to extract it from the oceans as there is large quantities there but this did not work
3600 years is but the time of their orbit. It is still gauged by our own Sun
Look to the great list of Kings in the Bible and you will start to gauge how long they persevered here on this planet to extract it

I think you are quite spot on with this subject matter. I also believe gold has a higher purpose in the universe and don't feel it inconcievable to think that advance races would exploit planets for materials and elements they require. It's exactly what we would do given time and technology. In fact water extraction from Mars has been something talked about in fiction and fact.

So who owns the gold?
Lets take a look at the USA
Their gold is held at Fort Knox, the most secure facility on the planet, built out of granite and sealed in a vault behind a 22 tonne door

How much gold is actually in there and who owns it?

An organisation called GATA, the Gold Anti - Trust Action Committee are taking a more direct approach.They are filing requests under the Freedom Of Information legislation to find out who owns the gold and how much of it there actually is
The US Mint state that there are 147. 3 million troy ounces of gold in the vault. They add that the gold is '' an asset of the United States'' They do not elaborate mmmmm
So, lets back up a little. Its stated that the Federal Reserve System owns the gold. Would that be the Federal Reserve Bank which is actually privately owned by a bunch of Elite bankers?
So, now you know who owns the gold. What we dont know is how much of it the Americans possess or what they intend to do with it. Any ideas?

The other large gold buyers in the first quarter of this year are Russia and Venezuela, both of whom detest the world's reliance on the US dollar and seek to replace it.
Another surprise recent buyer of gold is the European Cental Bank.Last year, pursuing a long standing policy, it sold 71.1 tonnes of gold. This year, in a sudden and unexplained reversal, it has spent 100 million dollars buying 3.3 tonnes of gold in January alone
